About

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it".

My name is Bechet K. Morin-Blandford and I am eight years old. I attend Morse Elementary. I was diagnoised with severe asthma at eighteen months old. I have been to the doctors more often than I can count. I have spent many nights in the hospital because I could not breathe and needed help to get better. I have three brothers Will, Everitt and Ka-lel.  Will and Everitt live in Texas and go to school. I live in Troy, Michigan with my parents and youngest brother Ka-lel. My awesome parents Brian and Shawn brought all of us up with a heart to serve others. I believe where God says in the bible about helping others, serving people, feeding the hungry, taking care of the widows and orphans. I don't like staying in the hospitals, or being away from home, but sometimes I have to in order to get better or just breathe.

"We are really excited that Bechet came up with this idea. It's going to be a huge gift to our patients and I think they'll enjoy knowing a kid like them, thought of it!"

What I've learned from my many stays (here I am at a sleep study) that sometimes the waiting is just very hard. I'm lucky that my mom bought games, books, crafts and more. Would'nt it be great if places already had that? Here I am at Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas. I love Dallas and the help I got while we lived there. A special Thanks to Children's Pulmonary, Robin Luffy NP and her staff! I miss you guys!

After a long allery test with over 30 shots, I realized it would have been easier if I could color or draw while waiting. i still need shots every week for my allergies, but now it's not so hard. Coloring makes me happy and I thought of sharing it with my allergist, pediatrician and pulomanary doctors. I want to help kids like me not to be afraid, or scared of going to the doctor's office, or getting shots. I also love helping people and wanted to do something for kids who don't always get to go home. I hope my organization is a fun way to help kids like me do something meaningful. But also serve others like my parents taught me. I hope you join me. Thanks for taking the time to reading my story!
